Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre Project/Production Proposal Process & Form

Calling All Visionaries: Propose Your Musical Theatre and Opera Projects and Productions for Our Upcoming Seasons! At Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre, we’re dedicated to bringing the magic of music, theater, and opera to our stage. We believe that the essence of exceptional productions lies in the creativity and passion of visionary artists. That’s why we’re thrilled to invite talented directors, playwrights, composers, and artists to submit their show proposals for our upcoming seasons, featuring the beauty of music and the power of storytelling.

What We’re Looking For:

• Captivating Musicals and Operas: Whether it’s a classic Broadway musical, a timeless opera, or an original composition, we’re open to exploring your musical creations.

• Compelling Storytelling: We appreciate stories that move hearts and minds, from stirring operatic dramas to the toe-tapping joy of a musical.

• Innovation and Creativity: We encourage fresh, imaginative takes on classic works and innovative new productions.

Proposal Requirements:

• Show Details: Provide a comprehensive overview of your proposed show, including a brief synopsis, themes, and why it’s a perfect fit for our stage.

• Personnel: Describe the team you’ll assemble, including a director, music director, choreographer, and any other key roles.

• Resumes: Include resumes for the Director and/or Music Director to highlight their experience and artistic vision.

• Sample Budget: Present a preliminary budget for your production to give us an idea of your financial planning.

• Venue Needs: Share your vision for the venue, set design, and technical requirements.

• Cast and Musicians: Outline the casting requirements and any live musicians needed for your production.

Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre is delighted to accept Project/Production Proposals for the upcoming 2024–2025 Season and beyond. This form may be used for fundraising and outreach events, small and Main-Stage productions, collaborative projects between multiple organizations and more. 

We encourage you to include as much information and details as possible when you submit this Proposal Form for the FLOT Board of Directors' consideration. Please note that you are submitting a Proposal for consideration with this form. For the next steps in this process, the BOD may contact you to inquire about gathering more information and/or invite you to a Board Meeting to give your Proposal in person. 

TIMELINE

We hope to review your Proposal a minimum of 6 months prior to your hopeful production date. However, we encourage as much advance notice as possible for projects with a larger scope and may make exceptions for smaller projects. 

DEADLINE for Spring 2024 Project/Production: December 1, 2023

The advancement of your Proposal is entirely up to the discretion of the FLOT BOD.
